Food for your child when traveling
• For meal breaks, choose toddler friendly zones such as eateries with a playground nearby or within a mall, so that your little child gets to stretch his legs. Pack enough food, bottles of water, milk packs in a cooler. Include enough snacks such as raisins, cut-up apples, bananas or seedless grapes, muesli bars, pretzels, small sandwiches or plain sweet biscuits to last the car journey - it can get really tedious managing hungry, bored kids. Avoid foods that can go stale such as meat or fish.
• Make tissues, disposable wipes and paper towels a standard equipment in your car. Pack adequate diapers if your child isn't potty trained yet. Disposable bibs will come in handy too, and several plastic bags to tie away the soiled nappies will be useful after you change your child.
