There seems to be an increase in repeat cesareans, reasons for this?

Since there is a slight risk of the uterus tearing, many women opt for repeat sections although close to 75% women succeed when VBAC is attempted. Cesareans are more common now since they have replaced most breech deliveries, they are preferred to difficult forceps vaginal deliveries, the incidence of larger babies seems to be on a rise necessitating a surgery, the number of previous sections is increasing as well as the number of plural pregnancies is becoming more common. Women with high-risk problems are now able to become mothers thanks to advancement in technology. This however translates to problems such as high blood pressure, diabetes, obesity and advanced maternal age which all contribute to the increase of surgical births. Finally women without medical problems are choosing cesarean over normal delivery for personal reasons such as fear of labor pain or 'convenience'.
