All gone!
To help baby learn the difference between full and empty,
play this game. Use a couple of plastic se through boxes
or two open weave laundry baskets. With your baby fill
one with objects. When it is done, tell baby, "All filled
up"! Next encourage baby to move all the objects into
the other container. Help baby out with the filling;
he will enjoy doing this activity. When finished, turn
over the empty container and tell baby the objects are
"All gone".
Telephone Talk
Your baby may enjoy talking on his toy phone by now.
He will also show delight when he hears a familiar voice
on a real phone. Having watched you having phone conversations
a countless number of times, he will show curiosity
for the phone. He can't hold the receiver himself yet
but he can listen. This helps him concentrate on speech
alone. When grandma or daddy calls let him listen to
their voice on the phone.
Creative toys
These are some of the many toys that entertain baby
and also help his mental and physical development.
Nesting cups, stacking rings, pails, balls to encourage
swatting, stacking, throwing and grasping.
Stable push toys - to encourage walking
Pop toys, reversible dolls or puppets to help him learn
what is out of sight hasn't disappeared forever.
