I have heard of ultrasound bonding. What is it exactly?


Essentially you bond with your baby 'more' once you have visually seen your baby on the screen, and through a scan what you feel for your baby only intensifies. Your emotional bond grows deeper because now you not only feel pregnant but you have seen that being which is growing inside of you for yourself. Many mothers choose to keep printed scans as mementos as they are literally your baby's first photograph. On the flipside despite the deep connection, ultrasound bonding can also increase anxiety and worry of the parents if the pregnancy is in any way complicated. Having said that this drawback is quite minor in comparison to the benefits parents reap with ultrasound bonding.
