Final words on separation anxiety

Can they manage without us this young, you may think to yourself sometimes? With your help your child will develop the trust that even when you go away, you will return soon. They will develop the trust from experience that you can go away and return after some time and they can manage while you are away. And lastly they will develop the trust that during the long periods of absence, they will be with people they can trust such as grandparents, aunties and teachers - enough trust that their needs and wants will be met without you being there.

The day will come when this phase like many others will pass. Fortunately your child will discover that she can separate from you and yet be fine, that wherever you go and whenever you go, you will return and all that transpires between the time you leave and return will be just fine!
