Banana Puree | Don't- have to cook Fruit Purees

Nature-given instant foods such as bananas and avocados make excellent first foods which you can easily prepare at home. Bananas are a favorite with kids of all ages. With younger babies they are especially popular because of the texture and sweetness. They are rich in minerals such as potassium and vitamins and provide lots of energy to your active baby.
½ large ripe Banana

1. After peeling off the banana skin, cut it into small pieces. Banana should be ripe as unripe bananas can cause tummy aches and constipation.

2. Mash the fruit using a fork till smooth. The texture should be lump free and paste like.

3. Serve immediately. To quantify it, mix in rice cereal with some formula milk.

Note: An important consideration to take into account when preparing this category of foods is ensure these purees are prepared just before your baby is ready to eat.

There is no age restriction as such to when you can introduce certain foods.
