Entertainment for your child during the journey
• Pack some entertainment, again it is better to pack
20 small toys instead of 2 big ones to keep boredom
at bay. Buy some inexpensive toys to work as surprise
gifts to keep your kids amused. Don't forget to bring
along his or her favorite toy, if there is one. Arrange
for 'in-house entertainment' such as a DVD player hooked
to the back of the front seats (get dual ones for 2
kids to watch from separate screens) and bring along
your toddler's favorite videos and some new ones to
keep your young ones occupied. Though not the most ideal
choice otherwise, but use the TV as your child's babysitter
during trips - a good sanity saver!
• Take turns to talk with your toddler by playing 'I
Spy' game, Alphabet or number songs if she knows how
to play or simply enjoy the scenery outside. Remind
your toddler what a good kid he is when he is on good
behavior - for a child it is very encouraging to hear
words of praise.
