Lentil Puree
I tablespoon chopped onion
½ carrot diced
½ teaspoon garlic, ½ tsp ginger
2 tablespoons red lentils
1 teaspoon oil
Some water for cooking
Chopped parsley or coriander
Condiments such as cumin powder, pepper (optional)
1. Sauté onion, garlic, ginger and carrots in the oil for about 10 minutes till carrots are tender.
2. Add lentils and water and cook further for 20 minutes or till lentils are soft.
3. Lastly add herbs and spices for taste. Blend in food processor till puree form. If too thick, add boiled water or appropriate milk to thin it down. Serve your baby.
4. For an older baby, you may add the above to cooked rice or pasta.
